Shri Swami Vivekanand Shikshan Sanstha, Kolhapur is one of the leading educational institutions, imparting quality education across diverse verticals for over seven decades with the motto “ज्ञान, विज्ञान आणि सुसंस्कार यासाठी शिक्षण प्रसार” (dissemination of Education for Knowledge, Science and Culture), given by the founder Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe. The Sanstha is one of the few renowned and leading educational institutions in Maharashtra (India).

Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe established Shri Swami Vivekanand Shikshan Sanstha, Kolhapur in 1954. He made the resolution of founding ‘Shri Swami Shikshan Sanstha’ in a small temple of Lord Muralidhar (Lord Krishna) Situated on the confluence of holy rivers the Krishna and the Koyana. He selected equally holy place to begin the sacred mission which, later on, become a life-time work for Dr. Bapuji Salunkhe.

Education uplifts the standards, promotes co-operation and maintains harmony in the society, the cognizance it instills makes every individual a responsible citizen of the nation. According to aforesaid maxim, in order to meet and overcome most of the challenges in the present education system in Maharashtra, Sanstha strives hard to impart knowledge to all parts of society and make it healthy and wholesome. Ours is a distinctive institution which has been working for the welfare of socially & economically backward communities and to impart the education to the students who resides in rural areas of the state.

Our Institute, which has carved a name and place for itself in the educational field in Maharashtra State, is the result of a dream envisioned by our dear Bapuji. While dreaming of changing the society through dissemination of education, Bapuji has given a major contribution in shaping of modern Maharashtra State. The society cherishes his contribution. Our Institute is continuously carrying forward Bapuji’s idealism and his philosophy through its 406 Sanskar Kendras (Schools and Colleges) and along with almost 9000 Gurudev Karyakartas (Active Teachers).

Our society today in the real sense needs the thoughts and values of great visionary leaders like Bapuji Salunkhe, and therefore we all, the Gurudev Karyakartas (Teachers) are the real ideological heirs of Bapuji.
