About Department:

                   History is one the few departments which are part of Ramkrishna Paramhansa Mahavidyalaya since its inception June 1959. PG and Research Center of Ph.D. started from academic year 1993-94 and 2020 – 21 respectively. Today the department focuses not only on the curricular aspects but also on the development of discipline specific skill sets in students to train them for a possible future career in History and allied subjects.

• Seminar / Webinar on Preparation in MPSC/UPSC competitive exam
• Departmental MoU with other institutions.

• To develop research attitude among the student.
• To make the student aware of Indian History and Culture.
• To create the interest among the student to protect and preserve historical resources.
• To inculcate qualities among the students from the inspiration of historical personalities.
• To focus on local history.
