1.     About/History of Department:

·        Sociology is one of the few departments which are part of RamkrishnaParamhansaMahavidyalaya since its inception UG- 1972 , PG- 1995

·        Department of Sociology focuses not only on the curricular aspects but also on the development of discipline specific skills in students to train them for a possible future career in  Sociology and allied subjects,

·        Sociology department run the short-term Certificate course in ‘Journalism’

·         Many of our students have passed the Civil Service examinations and now they are in government services.

·        The department has continued to promote and upgrade the knowledge of students, researchers, and teachers.

·        The intake capacity of the department is 360 students for B.A. I, and 120 students for B.A. II & III year.
